6/16/11 Jeep® Training : Lake Maggiore - Balocco
Half way between Milan Malpensa International Airport and Balocco, former private Alfa Romeo track, still in use for Fiat car tests, Grand Hotel Dino in Baveno has been chosen as an exceptional “pit stop” for the presentation of the new Jeep Chrysler.
For three weeks, 850 people, car dealers from all over the world, took turns with each other to drive this new car and enjoy the splendid landscape of Lake Maggiore.It was an intense programme for the attendees, but, thanks also to the beautiful weather, the break in Baveno exclusively proposed a boat excursion around the Borromean Gulf and a typical dinner on the Fishermen's Island.
Everybody moved to Balocco for the “test-drive” the day after. Several tracks are available there: one is dedicated to tests on wet road, one, called “Langhe”, takes the idea from the hills in the Langhe territory (in the neighbourhood of Alba and Cuneo) and goes upwards and downwards; asphalt was rough on purpose to test stability and suspensions in crytical conditions, one of the tracks is for sprint tests and the “Oval” is for high speed.
